eVa Environmental Accounting Platform Beta version.

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the EvA Environmental Accounting Platform ("eVa" or the “Platform”) Beta Version, a digital platform provided by Accounting for Nature Ltd ("AfN", "we", "our", or "us").

By accessing or using eVa, you (the “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.

1. About eVa

eVa is an online software Platform designed to support the creation, management and submission of Environmental Accounts under the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

The Platform enables users to:

  • Create and manage Environmental Accounts and their Environmental Assets.

  • Upload and manage account documentation

  • Support submission and management of the five-step process including registration and certification processes

  • Collaborate with authorised users, such as nominated Accredited Experts and Auditors.

This version of eVa is provided as a Beta Platform and features may change over time.

2. Eligibility to Use the Platform

You may only use eVa if:

  • You are authorised by AfN to use the Platform

  • You are authorised by your organisation to use the Platform; and

  • You comply with these Terms of Use.

If you create or administer user accounts for your organisation, you are responsible for ensuring that all authorised users comply with these Terms.

3. User Accounts

Users are required to create an account to access eVa.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account

  • Keep login credentials secure

  • Notify AfN if you become aware of unauthorised access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your user profile account.

AfN may suspend or terminate accounts where misuse or breach of these Terms occurs.

4. Permitted Use

You may use eVa only for lawful purposes and in accordance with the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

You must not:

  • Attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the Platform

  • Access data belonging to other users without authorisation

  • Upload malicious software or harmful content

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the software

  • Use the Platform for unlawful or misleading purposes

5. Fees and Costs

Beta Access
Access to eVa during the beta testing program is free of charge. Accounting for Nature may, at its discretion, introduce fees for access to the Platform in the future.

Accounting for Nature may change, suspend, or discontinue the Platform (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice, and without liability for fees paid or service expectations.

6. Data and Content

Users may upload information, documents, datasets, and other materials to the eVa Platform in connection with Environmental Accounts.

By uploading, submitting, or managing information within the eVa Platform, users confirm that:

  • They have the authority to provide the information

  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge

  • The information does not infringe the rights of third parties, and

  • The information may be used by Accounting for Nature in accordance with the applicable data licensing terms.

All data, documentation, and other materials submitted through the eVa Platform are governed by the Accounting for Nature® Data Licence Agreement.

Users acknowledge that Accounting for Nature may use submitted data for the purposes of administering Environmental Accounts, certification processes, registry records, and related reporting under the Accounting for Nature® Framework. This use does not constitute any endorsement, guarantee, or certification of environmental outcomes beyond the formal certification process.

6.1 Data Licence Agreement

By accessing or using the eVa Platform, users acknowledge and agree that the Accounting for Nature Data Licence Agreement applies to all information submitted or managed through the Platform.

The Data Licence Agreement forms part of these Terms of Use and is incorporated by reference.

Users should review the Data Licence Agreement available on the Accounting for Nature website.

7. Privacy and Personal Information

AfN collects and manages personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988.

Personal information collected through the Platform will be handled in accordance with the Accounting for Nature Privacy Policy, which explains:

  • what information is collected

  • how it is used

  • how it is stored and protected

By using eVa, you consent to the collection and use of personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Beta Platform Disclaimer

Where eVa is provided as a Beta Platform, users acknowledge that:

  • The Platform may contain errors, defects, or incomplete functionality

  • Features may change during the testing period, and

  • Data entered may be reset or removed as part of Platform development

Participation in beta testing and the submission of documentation via eVa are linked to environmental account management and are considered official under AfN processes.

9. Availability of the Platform

AfN will make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability of eVa, but does not guarantee uninterrupted access.

AfN may:

  • modify Platform functionality

  • perform maintenance, and/or

  • suspend access where necessary

without prior notice.

10. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in eVa, including software, design, and Platform functionality, remain the property of Accounting for Nature Ltd.

Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purposes which is to support the creation and development of Environmental Accounts under the Accounting for Nature® Framework.

Users must not copy, reproduce, modify or distribute the Platform without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfN is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:

  • use of the eVa Platform

  • reliance on information within the Platform

  • interruption or failure of the Platform

12. Third-Party Services

eVa may integrate with or reference third-party services or software.

AfN is not responsible for the operation or availability of third-party services.

Use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms and conditions.

13. Suspension or Termination

AfN may suspend or terminate your access to eVa if:

  • these Terms are breached

  • the Platform is misused

  • required by law

Users may stop using the Platform at any time.

Termination does not affect rights or obligations accrued prior to termination.

14. Changes to the Terms

AfN may update these Terms of Use from time to time.

Updated terms will be published on the eVa Platform or website. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of the relevant Australian state or territory.
